BOARD MEETING RECAP
Key highlights from our January 2026 Board of Trustees meeting:
- Transfer Fee Policy Update: Trustees approved revisions to FDA(LOCAL) eliminating the interdistrict transfer fee beginning with the 2026–27 school year. Transfer eligibility requirements remain in place, and the update supports choice and access for families while maintaining district standards and campus capacity.
- Trustee Election Called: Trustees approved an election order calling for a Board of Trustees election on May 2, 2026, for Place 1 and Place 2. The election will be conducted through a joint agreement with the McLennan County Elections Office, which will manage election operations and staffing. See below for more voter information.
- School Board Appreciation Month: January is School Board Appreciation Month, a time to thank the Midway ISD Board of Trustees for their service and leadership. Board members dedicate countless hours to governance and oversight in support of students, staff, and the community.
- Student & Staff Recognitions: Trustees celebrated four new National Board Certified teachers in Midway ISD.

- March Primary Election Reminder: March primary elections are approaching, and Midway ISD families are encouraged to make a plan to vote. Voters can check or update their registration status through the Texas Secretary of State’s Voter Portal, find polling locations and early voting information at VoteTexas, and review nonpartisan ballot and candidate information at Vote411. Voting is an important way families can participate in the civic process and help shape decisions that impact our schools, communities, and future generations.
