BOARD MEETING RECAP

Key highlights from our February 2026 Board of Trustees meeting:

  • ERP Honor Roll Recognition: Six Midway ISD campuses — along with the district — earned 2025 recognition from Educational Partnership Results (ERP) for strong academic performance and student growth, highlighting Midway’s continued commitment to moving all students forward.
  • Mid-Year Academic Progress Update: Midway ISD trustees reviewed strong mid-year (MOY) academic progress data reflecting student growth in reading and math across grade levels.
  • Future of Speegleville Elementary: The Board of Trustees held a discussion regarding the future of Speegleville Elementary, but no decision has been made at this time. The district is continuing to evaluate before any action is taken. You can view the full board discussion online.
  • Panther Pride: The Board of Trustees recognized students, staff and campuses for academic excellence, professional honors and and student achievement!

NEWS TO KNOW

  • High School Addition Construction Manager Selection: The Midway ISD Board of Trustees approved Mazanec Construction to serve as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) for the Midway High School addition and renovation project.
  • Bond 2025 in Action! Midway ISD has successfully priced its $83.5 million bond at a 3.75% interest rate, securing favorable financing to move forward with projects approved by voters in 2025. The district will make an early principal payment with excess Interest & Sinking funds, saving taxpayers $1.3 million in interest costs.
  • March Primary Election Reminder: March primary elections are here, and Midway ISD families are encouraged to make a plan to vote. Voters can find polling locations and early voting information at VoteTexas and review nonpartisan ballot and candidate information at Vote411. Voting is an important way families can participate in the civic process and help shape decisions that impact our schools, communities, and future generations.
  • In the News: More than 20 Midway HS student athletes took pen to paper on Signing Day to commit to their college of choice!
  • MEF 2025 Annual Report: Check out the Midway ISD Education Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report, celebrating a record year of support for Midway students and staff. The Foundation raised $447,184 across all programs and initiatives, supported by a record-setting 471 donors. For the first time, the Foundation surpassed the 450-donor milestone — welcoming new supporters, re-engaging past donors, and strengthening community confidence in its mission to enrich educational opportunities across the district.
