Midway ISD

Midway ISD focuses on providing a learner-centered environment to engage and challenge students. Staff and students alike can utilize advanced technology and innovative programs throughout all campuses.

Enrollment / Registration

Returning Student

Your child is a returning student if they were enrolled in any Midway ISD school on the last day of the prior school year.

New Student

Your child is a new student if one of the following applies:

  • The student has NEVER been enrolled at Midway ISD.
  • The student was not enrolled at any Midway ISD campus on the last day of the prior school year.
  • The student was previously enrolled at Midway ISD, withdrew, and is now returning.

Transfer a Student

Currently, Midway ISD's waitlist is open for new out-of-district transfers, subject to available space in all K-12 grade levels. Applicants need to meet specific criteria and are expected to cover associated fees. Transfers will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served, case-by-case basis. Incomplete transfer packets will not be considered.
Out-of-district transfer applicants seek admission to the Midway school district, not a specific campus. Campus placement will be assigned based on available space and resources.

Please Note: Students on the waitlist will not be informed of acceptance until after school begins. Parents should not complete the MISD online enrollment process until being informed of their particular campus assignment.

Inter-district transfers are evaluated year by year, contingent on compliance with Policy FDA(LOCAL).  The district reserves the right to discontinue this practice should it be determined that it is no longer economically feasible or that space is no longer available.

Returning transfer students must reapply on an annual basis.

The Midway ISD Board of Trustees annually determines the transfer fee.

  • The transfer fee for the 2024-25 school year is $1000.00 plus a $40 processing fee per student payable in equal payments of $520.00 before the first day of each semester.
  • Revocation of transfer status will result if payments are not received on time. Payment will be made online in the MySchoolBucks app.
  • Links to payment will be sent to parents upon approval.

Any appeals shall be made in accordance with FNG(LOCAL) and GF(LOCAL), as appropriate.

For more information about the transfer process, contact Administrative Support Services at 254-761-5610 ext. 1103 or email [email protected].

Midway ISD accepts new transfer students in grade levels K-12 each year as space allows.

Transfers are currently closed at this time.

Support Materials

When you live in Midway ISD, your student will be able to enroll in the Midway district, but it does NOT guarantee which campus your student will attend. Many grade levels and campuses fill to capacity which requires late registrations to go to overflow campuses. District administration may also reconfigure attendance zones to distribute population in dense areas.

  • Register to ride the bus.
  • Watch for your campus drop off & pick up procedures in ParentSquare.
  • High School Students - Purchase MHS parking pass (at campus)

Note: Immunizations must be current in order for registration to be complete. Please provide a copy of your child's current immunizations during New Student Enrollment (or for Returning Student Registration if your child received any new immunizations).

90% of human brain development happens before age 5. In other words, waiting until kindergarten to start teaching our kids is already too late. By enrolling your child in Midway ISD's Prekindergarten program, you give them the gift of a brighter future. As adults, they also end up earning higher incomes, on average, than similar students who do not enroll in Prekindergarten.

Studies show that kids who attend Prekindergarten are:

  • 3.5x more likely to be ready for kindergarten
  • More likely to succeed in school
  • More likely to go to college
  • Less likely to drop out
  • Less likely to become a teen parent
  • Less likely to be arrested for a violent crime
Who is Eligible?

A child must be at least three years of age by September 1 of the school year and fit at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
