From early elementary services through our 18+ MPower transition program, students receive thoughtful, personalized support that builds skills for independence, employment, and community life. Midway ISD offers high-quality half-day and full-day prekindergarten options for qualifying 4-year-olds, giving young learners a strong start from the very beginning.

Nearly 90% of brain development occurs before age five, making early learning critical. Children who attend Prekindergarten are more likely to enter kindergarten ready to learn and, over time, experience long-term academic and life benefits. At Midway, PreK focuses on early literacy, social development, and hands-on learning — building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning that lasts.

Panther Kids is Midway ISD’s user-funded after-school program for students in PreK through 8th grade, designed to provide a safe, engaging place for students to unwind and have fun after the school day ends. Each afternoon, students rotate through a variety of activities, including outdoor play (weather permitting), gym time, games, arts and crafts, and structured free play — creating a balance of movement, creativity, and social connection in a supervised environment.Families also have the option of after-school programming through Midway’s partnership with Mentoring Alliance, offering additional enrichment and mentorship opportunities for students.
