BOARD MEETING RECAP

Key highlights from our August 2025 Board of Trustees meeting:

  • Bond Election Called: The Board of Trustees unanimously called for an $83.5 million bond election with no tax rate increase. The bond addresses deferred maintenance, safety, technology, and critical district needs while postponing new construction for future consideration. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, with early voting Oct. 20–31.
  • 2025–26 Student Handbook Adopted: Trustees approved the updated Student Handbook for the 2025–26 school year. Changes reflect 14 new state laws and district updates, including parental rights provisions, updated attendance rules, new cell phone restrictions, and enhanced library access.   • Board Holds Tax Rate Steady: The Board adopted a tax rate of $0.9369 per $100 valuation, the same as last year, marking a 38-cent decrease since 2018. Trustees also approved paying off $2–3 million in debt early, continuing Midway ISD’s strong record of fiscal stewardship
