Midway Fine Arts

Midway ISD is proud to provide exceptional opportunities for students to create, perform, and experience the arts. From kindergarten through graduation, students have access to a broad range of Fine Arts experiences designed to foster creativity and encourage lifelong engagement in the arts. All students in grades K–5 receive instruction in both art and music, while secondary students can pursue their interests through courses in band, choir, dance, orchestra, theater, and visual arts. Our Fine Arts programs cultivate creativity, discipline, collaboration, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts—helping students develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Midway Fine Arts students consistently achieve at the highest levels across disciplines. Midway has been named a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation every year since 2007, with students earning All-State honors in band, orchestra, and choir, band programs advancing to the UIL Area level and choirs selected to perform at TMEA Convention. The Midway Goal Tenders and Panther Pom Squad consistently place at the top of dance competitions around the state and qualify for national competitions. The theater department shines through its many productions and earned an outstanding third-place finish at the 2026 UIL OAP 6A State Contest. Visual arts students consistently earn VASE and Jr. VASE recognition. From elementary student artwork on display at the Texas Education Agency office in Austin, to collaborations with a local hospital to provide stimulating art for patients, talented artists at all levels have opportunities to share their work across Texas.

Facility Rentals

Midway Independent School District's Performing Arts Center is in its 28th year of serving as the showplace of Performing and Visual Arts for Midway ISD and the Midway Community. With it's continually updated sound and light system, the MISD PAC is a state-of-the-art facility which seats 1100 for music, theatre and special events.

Beginning June 1, new requests may be submitted from the local campuses and Midway ISD. Non-Midway ISD groups will be allowed to submit requests and deposits as of July 1, but will not be officially scheduled until September 1. Any and all dates requested after August 31 are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-Midway ISD groups must submit requests three months prior to the performance requested. Depending upon the level of the request, non-campus groups may not have access to the PAC until November 1 to allow time for the technical theatre students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform technical theatre aspects of production.
