Midway Fine Arts

Midway has been named one of the Nation's Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation every year since 2007. Midway students receive all-state honors in band, orchestra and choir on an annual basis.  Our art students are perennial VASE and Jr.VASE awards winners and our band program competes at the Area level every year. Our choirs at multiple levels have often been invited to perform at TMEA. Midway's One Act Play competes annually, and our biannual musical with Broadway costumes and props is a favorite for local families.

From elementary student art on display at the Texas Education Agency office in Austin, to collaborations with a local hospital to provide stimulating art for patients, talented artists at all levels are able to show their work across Texas.

Facility Rentals

Midway Independent School District's Performing Arts Center is in its 28th year of serving as the showplace of Performing and Visual Arts for Midway ISD and the Midway Community. With it's continually updated sound and light system, the MISD PAC is a state-of-the-art facility which seats 1100 for music, theatre and special events.

Beginning June 1, new requests may be submitted from the local campuses and Midway ISD. Non-Midway ISD groups will be allowed to submit requests and deposits as of July 1, but will not be officially scheduled until September 1. Any and all dates requested after August 31 are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-Midway ISD groups must submit requests three months prior to the performance requested. Depending upon the level of the request, non-campus groups may not have access to the PAC until November 1 to allow time for the technical theatre students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform technical theatre aspects of production.
