On the 25th anniversary of September 11, Midway High School’s Marine Corps JROTC brought students, staff and local first responders together for Unity Day—a student-led observance focused not only on remembering the past, but also on choosing how the next generation will respond.

Midway High School’s Marine Corps Junior ROTC has been named the No. 1 program in its school-population category and recognized among approximately the top three percent of all 244 Marine Corps JROTC units nationwide.

Midway ISD’s planned addition to Midway High School is moving forward with a projected total cost of approximately $16.5 million — about $3 million below the project’s original $19.9 million budget.

Beginning August 3, 2026, Midway ISD Food Service Department will begin distributing letters to the households of the children in the district about eligibility benefits and any actions households need to take to apply for these benefits. Midway ISD students earned college-credit qualifying scores on 84% of the 1,911 Advanced Placement (AP) exams taken this year.

Midway ISD trustees received a detailed design development update at its regular May meeting on the upcoming Midway High School extra-curricular addition and renovation project, one of the major projects included in the voter-approved 2025 bond program.

Midway High School has announced its top graduates for the Class of 2026, recognizing two outstanding students whose accomplishments reflect excellence in academics, leadership, service, and involvement both on campus and in the community.

John plans to attend the University of Michigan to study electrical engineering and participate in a college advising program designed to support students pursuing careers in STEM fields.
