Midway Teacher Awarded for Educational Contributions
A Midway elementary school teacher was awarded this October for her contributions to the field of education.
The School of Education at Abilene Christian University annually selects a graduate to receive the Morlan Medal in recognition of their impact as an educator. Stacy Spink, a second grade teacher at Castleman Creek Elementary School, was chosen as this year’s honoree.
Spink, a 2018 graduate of ACU, was also a teacher finalist in the 2023 H-E-B Excellence in Education statewide awards earlier in the year. In addition, she serves as a mentor to Baylor education students and is actively involved in the Waco community.
“Spink exemplifies the commitment to teaching excellence and continued professional growth that we strive to nurture in all of our ACU teacher candidates,” Dr. Stephanie Talley, associate professor and department chair in the ACU School of Education, said.
Spink’s recognition as a Morlan Medal recipient is a testament to her exceptional dedication and influence as a teacher.
