Midway Learning Coach Liz Hagins was recognized at the November school board meeting as one of just nine B.E.S.T. Award recipients this year in Texas.

The annual B.E.S.T.—Baptist Educators Serving Texas—Award is presented to select graduates of Texas Baptist institutions who currently serve in the Texas public school system. One graduate is selected from each Texas Baptist educational institution. Hagins, a graduate of Baylor University, is one of just nine public school educators in the state who were selected as this year’s B.E.S.T. Award recipients.

Hagins has been an educator in Midway ISD since 2012 where she has taught seventh- and eighth-grade English and was a mentor teacher to Baylor students, receiving district Teacher of the Year honors in 2016. She is now a learning coach serving high school and middle school teachers.
