Midway ISD Board of Trustees Vacancy Application
The Midway ISD (MISD) Board of Trustees is seeking applicants to fill an anticipated vacancy for Place I on the Board. The appointed trustee will fill Place I until at least May 2026. There will be an election for Place I of the Midway ISD School Board during the Spring of 2026 with the election to occur in May. Whoever is appointed by the Board to serve in this role should anticipate "running" for Place I during the Spring of 2026 (Click here for the Candidate’s Guide for Local Political Subdivisions ).
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the legal qualifications to serve as a Texas school board member. Board members are expected to attend all regular and special meetings.
Time Commitment
Board members are expected to attend all regular and special meetings. Regular meetings are typically held at 7 p.m. at 13885 Woodway Drive, Woodway, TX 76712 on the third Tuesday of each month:
- November 18, 2025
- December 16, 2025
- January 20, 2026
- February 17, 2026
- March 24, 2026
- April 21, 2026
- May 19, 2026
- June 16, 2026
- July 21, 2026

Application Process
Interested individuals should complete the online application form and respond to the questions listed below (maximum 500 words per response). Applicants must also send a Personal or Professional Biography or Resume* that includes 3-5 references and summarizes their experiences, community involvement, and skills that would contribute to serving on the Board to carolyn.wynn@midwayisd.org before the application deadline.
*Applicants are not required to have formal work experience to apply.
Applications are due by Friday, November 7, 2025.
After reviewing submissions, the Board expects to schedule interviews with selected candidates. The Board hopes to install the appointed trustee during the December 16, 2025 Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the Board.
Additional Information
If interested in serving beyond the appointment term, applicants must file to run for election in the May 2, 2026 General Election. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is February 13, 2026.
