During the September meeting of the Midway ISD Board of Trustees, students and staff were honored for their exceptional achievements and meaningful contributions that have positively impacted the district and its community.

Middle School Coaches Extracurricular Support
When additional drivers were needed to transport the Midway band and its equipment to Aledo, four middle school coaches stepped forward. Each is also a classroom teacher who coaches three sports, yet they made sure the band could safely participate in this important student experience.
At Midway, serving students is not limited by a job title, campus or department. Strong programs depend on employees who recognize a need, work together and contribute wherever they can. These coaches went above and beyond their regular responsibilities, demonstrating the teamwork, service and shared ownership that define the Midway Way.

ROTC National Honor School Award
Midway High School’s Marine Corps Junior ROTC has earned the Marine Corps Reserve Association Award as the nation’s No. 1 program in its school-population category. The unit was selected from among 244 Marine Corps JROTC programs nationwide after also earning Naval Honor School designation for the third consecutive year—placing Midway MCJROTC among approximately the top three percent of programs in the nation. These honors recognize the cadets’ sustained excellence in leadership, academics, competition and service, as well as the dedication of the instructors who have helped transform the program into one of the nation’s best.
