Midway ISD Receives Clean Annual Financial Audit

Midway ISD shared its annual financial audit with the Board of Trustees during the November meeting, with auditors issuing the highest possible rating—a clean, or unmodified, opinion. This means the district’s financial statements are materially accurate and free of significant errors.

“This clean audit reflects the district’s long-standing commitment to accuracy, transparency, and responsible fiscal management,” Assistant Superintendent of Finance Wesley Brooks said. “We’re grateful for the trust our community places in us, and we work hard to ensure every dollar is accounted for and aligned with student needs.”

A representative from Pattillo, Brown & Hill, the district’s independent audit firm, walked the board through the draft audit report and the required communications letter to trustees. The audit also noted no findings or material weaknesses in internal controls or compliance.

The district closed the fiscal year with a General Fund surplus of $224,726, reflecting continued stewardship of taxpayer dollars and strong financial management practices.

The Board will take action on the completed version once the final federal guidance is released.

Midway ISD remains committed to responsible, transparent financial operations that support students, staff, and the community.
