Midway High School Tennis Serves Up Victory in First Win of the Season!

Panther Tennis Kicks Off the 2023/24 School Year for Midway Athletics with a Win Over Belton:

The Panther Tennis moved to 1-0 on the 2023 Team Tennis season with an 18-1 victory over the Belton Tigers today. “Our players have been Relentless in their preparation this opening week. The are an outstanding team with a focused vision on where they want to be this year” says Head Coach Troy Simonek.

The Panthers o the Dual Match with a 7-0 sweep in Doubles match Play.  Stepping up on the Doubles courts were:

Men - Ellis/Lutz, Daniell/Johnston & Castle/Sibal

Women - Rhea/McCreery, Spruill/Hamlin & Battle/Hinojos

Mixed Doubles - Colby McCreery/Shelton

The Panthers continued to stay locked in as they stepped out onto the Singles. They took 11 out of 12 Singles matches to close out the victory 18-1.  

Claiming wins for the Panthers on the Singles Courts were:

Men - Rowan Daniell, Cole Ellis, Will Lutz, Parker Johnston, Louis Veselka & Colby McCreery

Women - Addy Spruill, Izzy Hinojos, Cadence McCreery, Addison Hamlin & Brooke Battle

Also winning matches on the day for the Panthers were:

Samantha Witsell, Campbell White, Jackson Langford

They will be back at home next Tuesday, August 8th for matches against Ennis 8:00 am and Groesbeck 5:00 pm.
