Midway Education Foundation Highlights $473K Impact at Board Meeting

The Midway ISD Education Foundation (MEF) presented its 2024 Annual Impact Report to the Board of Trustees today, celebrating more than $473,000 in total contributions made to enrich teaching and learning across the district.

Thanks to the generosity of 415+ individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners, the Foundation awarded 71 grants totaling over $185,000 to 80 educators, funded classroom start-up reimbursements for 41 first-year teachers, and supported student initiatives including Spirit of Midway, AVID, Special Olympics, and academic letter jackets.

Additional initiatives included Grow Your Own teacher scholarships, staff appreciation events, and welcome packages for new students. The Foundation also launched its "Honor a Staff Member" campaign, recognizing 71 employees through donor-nominated shout-outs.

Per the district’s annual review, MEF provided nearly $303,000 in direct financial support while the district’s shared services costs totaled just under $58,000—fulfilling the requirement that MEF deliver greater value than it receives.

“We’re thankful for the businesses and individuals who give so generously,” Superintendent Dr. Chris Allen said. “Their partnership ensures Midway students and staff have the tools, recognition, and opportunities they deserve.”
