The Midway ISD Board of Trustees during its regular August meeting adopted the district’s Student Handbook for the 2025–26 school year, incorporating several updates driven by recent legislation from the 89th Texas Legislature as well as adjustments to ensure clarity and consistency for students and families.
This year’s revisions reflect the impact of 14 new state bills, along with other district-specific updates.
Key changes include:
- New “parental rights” provisions
- Updated attendance accounting
- Expanded protocols selection academic courses
- Implementation of Texas’ new cell phone restrictions (HB 1481)
- Enhanced library access
