All four of Midway High School’s semifinalists have advanced to finalist standing in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.

In Niche.com’s 2023 rankings, Midway ISD continues to be recognized as one of the top 15 school districts in Texas, earning the title of #1 Best School District in McLennan County and the Waco Area with an overall grade of A+ for the sixth consecutive year and ranking among the top 3% of school districts in America.

As a chapter, Midway FFA earned high marks this year at both the state and national level.

Not many students get to experience winning a state competition during their time in high school, and even fewer can say they won for restoring a 72-year-old piece of farm equipment.

Year after year, Midway High School students continue to uphold their legacy of outstanding performance in standardized testing.

During the fall semester, fifth grade Gifted & Talented (GT) students district-wide selected an “passion project” and way they could make a positive impact.

Midway ISD swept the public school categories in the 2022 Waco Tribune-Herald H.O.T. Readers’ Choice Awards with three campuses being voted Best Schools!

Midway ISD received high marks as an A-rated district in state accountability ratings for the 2021-2022 school year. Ratings were last released by the Texas Education Agency in 2019 due to COVID-related pauses, and since then the district not only retained its A rating but gained 3 points for an overall score of 96.
