Team 4707 captured the 1st Place Inspire Award, the most prestigious recognition given at the competition. The Inspire Award honors the team that best exemplifies excellence in engineering, innovation, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism both on and off the field.

The team went undefeated during qualification rounds, earning the No. 1 seed heading into playoffs. After a hard-fought final match, they finished second in the playoff bracket. Their overall performance secured the top Inspire Award and an overall first-place finish in the league.

With the win, Team 4707 advances directly to the Regional Championship in San Antonio on in March 7th.

Team 5683 also delivered an exceptional performance, advancing to the playoff rounds and finishing fifth overall after reaching the semifinals. The team earned the 2nd Place Inspire Award, making Midway the only program to claim both top Inspire honors at this year’s championship.

Their strong finish secured a spot at the Semi-Regional Championship in Austin on February 14.

Team 15594 finished ninth overall and earned the Sustain Award, which recognizes teams that demonstrate long-term planning and a commitment to ensuring their robotics program thrives for years to come. Judges highlighted the team’s vision, organization, and strategic growth efforts.

Team 8203, composed primarily of rookie members, competed with determination throughout the day. Despite a few setbacks, the team finished 17th overall and gained valuable experience that positions them well for next season.

This marks the third consecutive year Midway Robotics has won the Inspire Award at the Waco League Championships. It is also the first time the program has swept both first and second place Inspire honors — a significant milestone for the district’s robotics program.

Over the past four months, students dedicated countless hours to robot design, programming, engineering portfolios, and presentations. Their success reflects not only technical skill, but leadership, teamwork, and professionalism.
