What’s on the Ballot?
Midway ISD voters will consider a $83.5 million bond package with no tax rate increase.
Bond Proposal Includes
- Facility and infrastructure upgrades: HVAC, roofing, plumbing, ADA, flooring, lighting, safety, and technology.
- Classroom devices and networking improvements.
- Midway High School additions: PE gym, wrestling room, locker rooms, training space.
- Fine arts: stage AV, lighting, instruments, uniforms, PAC seating.
- Extra/Co-Curricular: lighting, equipment, repairs, stadium security.
- Operations equipment, furniture replacement, and school buses.
Why Now?
- Aging Facilities: Buildings span up to 68 years old, with deterioration projected to worsen without investment.
- Overcrowded Spaces: Single PE gym shared by 900+ student-athletes and state testing.
- Equity: Fine arts and classroom technology upgrades needed across PK–12 campuses.
- Financial Strategy: Bond-funded projects protect the general fund and allow investments with no tax rate increase.
