We are excited to invite our band friends back to our stadium for the 2023 Midway Marching Preview that will take place on October 5, 2024 at Midway ISD Panther Stadium in Waco, Texas.

This contest will have the “UIL Area” Pre-lims/Finals format with emphasis on informative and useful critiques from
​high-quality judges. There will be three music judges, two visual judges, one percussion and
​one auxiliary judge for prelims and finals.  All scores will count for placement.

Parents, we appreciate everything that you do to support our organization. The Midway Band Backers serve as the official support organization for Midway Band & Guard, grades 6-12. Band Backer membership is optional for all parents, guardians and family members. We are happy to offer several different levels of membership for families and businesses.

Your membership goes directly to supporting our students. Your money will help support:

• Additional needs of the band & guard program beyond the allotted budget from the school district
• Provide financial aid for fees to students in need
• Increases the amount of scholarship money we can give to seniors at our end of the year banquet

NOTE:  In order for seniors to be eligible for the Band Backer Scholarship at the end of the year banquet, their immediate family must be members of the Band Backers.

Midway ISD Fine Arts Private Lesson Program

Supplemental individual private lessons are offered as enrichment to classroom instruction and are designed to utilize the broad scope of characteristic literature available for every instrument, voice or actor.  Rather than stress the singular goal of competition preparation, the emphasis instead is on nurturing the independent thinking and individual performance skills critical to the development of the maturing performer. Music private lessons focus on acquiring refined levels of sight-reading and technical proficiency in tandem with the attainment of an advanced sense of musical instinct and interpretation. Theatre private lessons give students an opportunity to build on fundamental acting skills and techniques while also working toward building a repertoire of monologues ready for auditions.
