Horizons

Horizons offers customizable learning options for Midway HS students.  Customizable learning at Horizons provides students the following options:

• acceleration via online coursework to graduate early;
• acceleration to get back on track with graduation due to lost credits;
• dual credit courses in addition to online coursework;
• the ability for students to take elective classes at MHS in addition to online coursework (these students will be in a Horizons classroom at the MHS building);
• a smaller environment for students who struggle in large settings;
• a 4-hour class day for students who have responsibilities outside of school.

At Horizons, we offer a hybrid school day that requires students to spend a half-day on campus (4 hours) and additional instructional time completing online assignments at home. In this new model, students will earn credits via our online learning platform, Edgenuity.  This will allow students the daily flexibility to take on responsibilities outside of school, have time for work, or pursue personal interests. Students must commit to working on their online classes at home to maintain daily progress; however, they will have the flexibility throughout the week to complete this as it best fits their personal schedule.
