English Learners

Midway ISD’s EL program is available at both the Elementary and Secondary levels. We strive to not only support students as they acquire English as a second language but also honor and welcome each student’s culture and first language as a means of transitioning to learning academic content in the English language. ESL is offered at all 11 Midway ISD campuses. The Bilingual program is offered to students in grades PK-4 whose native language is Spanish. Students who qualify for Bilingual services will receive support through an Alternative Language Program. All students will receive classroom instruction from a Bilingual-certified or ESL-certified teacher through an ESL program.
