Parks comes to Midway with extensive experience in public school communications, previously serving as the communications director and spokesperson for three Texas school districts: Sherman ISD, Bastrop ISD and Hutto ISD.

She also served as the communications and public relations manager for the City of Temple, and prior to that, she worked for the Texas Department of Transportation as social media coordinator where she developed media content and strategies for statewide communications. Most recently, Parks provided communications and public relations services to businesses and organizations as an independent consultant.

“I’m so excited to join the excellence of Midway ISD,” Parks said. “School communications is a true passion for me, and I look forward to getting to know the parents, students and community that is Panther Nation.”

Parks has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is also a Certified Public Communicator through Texas Christian University’s graduate-level program.

Parks is expected to start in her new role at Midway ISD next week.
