Medical Reasons To Be
Sent Home or Stay Home
1. Any temperature greater than or equal to 100 degrees is considered a fever. A student must be free of fever for 24 hours without the need for Tylenol or Ibuprofen to maintain a normal temperature.
2. Students must be free of vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school.
3. There are many communicable diseases that require exclusion from school. A list can be found on page 12 of the student handbook. There are many other requirements from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS), but these listed in the handbook are the most common.
