The Texas Association for Gifted and Talented states, "Effective advocacy is more than being passionate about gifted education. An effective advocate knows how to convey the message that needs to be heard and knows how to frame information in a manner that drives the point without alienating those who influence the decision-making process." Organizations such as TAGT and NAGC advocate for the adoption of policies that promote programs and services for gifted students. To learn more about how you can be an effective advocate for gifted education, visit the TAGT website linked below. Here you can find your legislator, read current and previous Calls to Action from TAGT, and access a variety of resources on advocacy in gifted education.
