A Note From Me to You
Welcome to Woodway Elementary and First Grade! I know this is an exciting time for both you and your child, and I am very glad to be a part of it.
My name is Kristin Kegley, and I am a first grade teacher at Woodway Elementary. I received my teaching certificate from Texas Tech University and have a Master's degree in literacy education. This is my tenth year of teaching. I have had experience working with children in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Intermediate/Middle School.
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Trey for eight years and have been blessed with an amazing son. He is five years old and a delight to watch grow and learn every single day. We also are foster parents to a little one-year-old boy. When I'm not at school, you can often find me in my garden digging in the dirt or in my kitchen cooking. Woodway Elementary is such a wonderful place for kids to learn and grow.
I hope you are looking forward to a wonderful first grade experience this year. I am very enthusiastic about working with you to provide a positive learning experience for your child. My hope is that your child will develop a love of learning they will carry throughout their life.
Please know I am more than willing to answer any questions you may have. I strongly believe with open and consistent communication between home and school we can create successful learning opportunities for your child. My phone number at school is 761-5740, ext. 6401. Feel free to call at any time. If I am not able to speak with you when you call, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. The best way for me to get back to you fairly quickly is through my e-mail address listed below.
Thank you for sharing your child with me. I know we will have a great year together!
