• MCC & TSTC Dual Credit, GWAMA & GWAHCA 

     

    Dual credit is a system in which eligible high school students can enroll in college courses and receive credit for the courses from both the college and high school.  Midway ISD has dual credit partnerships with McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College. Midway High School students have the opportunity to enroll in approved dual credit courses taught in a variety of settings including; courses taught on the high school campus by an approved instructor, courses taught on the college campus, and/or classes taught online by an approved instructor.

     

    The Greater Waco Advanced Academies ( GWAMA/GWAHCA)

    Through a partnership with Waco ISD,  Midway High School students have the opportunity to participate in the Greater Waco Advanced Academies. Students enrolled in the Greater Waco Advanced Academies spend a portion of their day (morning or afternoon) on the Midway High School campus, and the remaining portion of their day at either the Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy campus or the Greater Waco Advanced Health Care Academy campus.

    The Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy ( GWAMA) offers advanced technical and manufacturing training in the areas of Welding, Architecture, Electronics & Robotics, and Construction Science. Dual credit options are available for some pathways through TSTC.

    The Greater Waco Advanced Health Care Academy (GWAHCA) offers  a challenging learning environment aligned with the healthcare industry to prepare students for future health care careers.
