Goal 1: Meet the academic, social, spiritual and physical needs of a diverse student population
Critical Issues as Identified by the Board of Trustees:
Changing demographics resulting in diverse needs of students
Perception of internal and external communities that demographics have not changed
Increasing population of special needs children
A curriculum that meets the changing needs of students
Extracurricular offerings tailored to the size and diversity of the student population
Career and technology programs that address the changing needs of the workplace

Midway ISD is a 4A school district located in the city of Waco, the heart of central Texas. It also includes the neighboring communities of Woodway, Speegleville, Hewitt, and part of McGregor and Crawford. The total population for the Waco metropolitan area is 213,517. Just 90 miles from Dallas, Texas and 100 miles from Austin, Texas, Waco is the 26th largest city in Texas. Along with many cultural icons, Waco is the proud host of Baylor University, McLennan Community College, and Texas State Technical College.
