To Whom It May Concern:

We are the Midway Band Backers and as our name suggests, our sole purpose is to support the efforts of the Midway Band program and all its activities.  This can be a daunting task at times when you are feeding, moving and encouraging a 150 strong student organization from summer band camp, through football season, district, regional and state competitions as well as local parades and concerts throughout the school year. 

The Midway Band provides cultural enrichment for the Greater Waco community and, as a result, continues to attract new families to our district and community.  For our band program to do so, we need local businesses to partner with us. Please consider joining us in “Backing the Band” at the level you feel appropriate as described on the following page.

Your tax deductible gift will help in the following areas as well as several others:

• Scholarships awarded to graduating seniors. ($3,000 awarded in 2012)
• Subsidize a private lesson program for band students.
• Upgrade current instruments and the purchase of new instruments and equipment.
• Provide and improve band hall equipment and supplies.
• Enhance the student experience through social activities for the band members throughout the year.
• Renovate the band equipment trailer used for travel to away games and competitions

Midway has been recognized for three consecutive years as a “Best Community for Music Education,” and the band is an important part of the fine arts program.  We are very proud of our band program and hope you will consider partnering with us to enhance the learning and performing environment of this important group as they travel around the area and state representing our community.
