• Welcome to Midway Elementary Mathematics!

At Midway ISD, our students begin their mathematical journey with a strong numeracy foundation.  Yearly, as we build upon that foundation, we lead our students to deepen their conceptual understanding of the "sense" of mathematics.
Our grade-level mathematics standards are clearly defined by the Texas Education Agency.  As we guide our students to a high level of proficiency on these standards, we intentionally integrate critical thinking skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills so that our students become critical thinkers, communicators, and problem solvers in life, not simply in a mathematics classroom.
Beginning in the fall of 2014-2015, grades K-8 addressed a new set of mathematics standards. These standards reflect an entire "re-write," rather than an edit of our previous mathematics standards. In addition, grades K-8 adopted new instructional materials rich with both digital and print resources.  With an iPad in every students' hands, Midway ISD students will explore mathematics in novel ways as they dig into the new standards.
