The Department of Special Populations and Federal Programs was created to address emerging issues among Midway students. Did you know Midway ISD's student population is currently 34% low-socioeconomic? One in every three students qualifies for federal assistance just to have breakfast and lunch daily... that's approximately 2,700 students who may have tendencies to need at-risk services and interventions!
Our department is committed to utilizing best practices and a student-centered approach to address any issues affecting a student's learning. Our "whole child" approach includes addressing factors ranging from learning disabilities, behavior intervention, social services, transportation needs, absenteeism, and families in need of support.
