The state assessment system is called STAAR, or the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness. Students are assessed yearly on grade level standards in mathematics in grades 3-Algebra 1. By law, copies of the assessments must be released every three years. With our new mathematics standards, the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 assessments will be released.
Resources are provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to support students as they prepare for state assessments. These resources can be found on the TEA website as well as on this page.
These documents show each student expectation that is eligible for assessment in each grade level. The learning standards are grouped by reporting categories.
BLUEPRINTS OF ASSESSMENTS
These blueprints show the number of items on each grade level assessment and the percent of the test represented by each reporting category.
