Academic UIL Competition 2015-2016The 2015-2016 Academic UIL competition will be Saturday, January 30 at South Bosque Elementary School. Interested students in grades 2-4 have recently tried out for a team. Practices will be held after school depending on the schedule of the lead teacher (coach). Parents are responsible for picking up their child from after school practices. Parents are also responsible for getting their child to the competition on Saturday, January 30 at South Bosque Elementary. We have a back-up date of February 6 if bad weather cancels the first date. Students who make teams are expected to attend all practices unless they are sick or there is a family emergency.Below is a link with descriptions of the events offered for the 2015-2016 school year. If you would like for your child to try out for any of these events, please click on the UIL information letter also linked below and print it. Complete the bottom portion of the letter and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, October 9, 2015. We will begin tryouts the following week, so returning this information is important. Children can only be in one competition, but can try out for more.
The competitions offered in the Academic Program are as follows:2nd Grade: Spelling, Storytelling, and Creative Writing
3rd Grade: Spelling, Storytelling, Music Memory, and Ready Writing
4th Grade: Spelling, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Music Memory, and Ready Writing
